Child Raped During Burglary, Philadelphia Police Say

A child was raped during a burglary, according to a police release on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Tyreek Collier, also known as Tyreek Jackson, 28, was arrested from the 6400 block of Charles Street on Wednesday, Oct. 2, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. 

Collier is accused of sexually assaulting a child during a burglary in the 3000 block of Cottman Avenue at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, police said.

He was charged under two separate dockets with:

  • Rape Forcible Compulsion.
  • Unlawful Contact with Minor - Sexual Offenses.
  • Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse Forcible Compulsion.
  • Statutory Sexual Assault.
  • Sexual Assault.
  • Corruption of Minors.
  • Indecent Assault without Consent.
  • Burglary - Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Bodily Injury Crime.
  • Criminal Trespass - Break Into Structure.

Collier's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18, according to court documents. He's being held on $250,000 bail under the rape charges and $100,000 bail under the burglary charges.

Collier has been charged for breaking into a building before, according to court records. He was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass Break into Structure on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019. He pleaded guilty to that charge on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020 and was sentenced to 23 months in prison and three years of probation.

He was also charged for carrying a firearm without a license and carrying firearms in public in Philadelphia on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 and again on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016.

Collier also has a long list of probation violations from Friday, April 24, 2020 to Monday, June 17, 2024.
